Love Is In The Air (For You)

Valentine’s Day is often associated with what we are willing to show as affection to a significant other in our lives. Husband. Wife. Boyfriend. Girlfriend. Trying to get ready for the “big night” often involves coordinated planning. Flowers. Favorite food. Carefully choreographed music. “Romcom” movie selection. Possibly other activities that are too inappropriate for a G-rated blog!

Even if you are paying attention to every single one of these details on this special day for that certain someone, would you be able to give yourself the same level of attention, care, and love that you are giving to someone else? Is there a way that you can shift your mindset & direction to focus more on what you do to love yourself, even if for but a brief moment?

Finding grace and peace within ourselves means that we have to dedicate time in which we pour into our glasses. Regardless of your view as to whether the cup is half empty or half full, seeing the value in yourself is absolute key in developing the foundational steps towards love for yourself. It is even said that to be able to serve one another, regardless of romantic interest or not, we must “feed our soul” with nourishing qualities that not only bring the best out of our unique qualities, but can activate receptors for others to feel the same nourishing feeling you provide.

There is no magic formula, like Cupid’s arrow, that cultivates this feeling inside. Many modern societies have concocted formulas that they believe are the secret to long lasting love, but love starts from an urge inside ourselves to feel needed/wanted. To generate this feeling for ourselves is an exercise of various ingredients, such as physical fitness, mental fortitude (i.e. debate, reading/studying, & casual conversation), along with a longing to be much better off than where you started from.

As hard as it may be to start this process, it can be easier than what it may appear underneath if you are willing to accept that love is unconditional and has no strings attached. Where in your life is a place, solemn and quiet, that has these kinds of characteristics? To create a relationship with yourself full of love, spending time to be with your thoughts, live amongst nature/safety, and to carve a time that belongs only to you, albeit tough in the beginning if never done before, you must prioritize this sacred place on Earth above all else. This includes your significant other.

Challenging your mindset on this requires a customized plan that will not only hold you accountable, but to help you with your “voice” in this ever-changing world. If you want to be held accountable to feel the “love” that you always deserved, regardless of your direction, schedule an initial consultation by clicking here on what you want to “fall in love with again”, and let’s get started! You deserve the love that everyone else receives!
